~ Get This ~

Ok get ready for more ranting about the picture stealing situation....as soon as I noticed the first picture I quickly went to view all of that seller's items and then I saw that they had 7 of my pictures as well as several other's from another web shoppe that I am familiar with so I emailed that shoppe owner as well. I sent the seller a message on all 7 of their auctions which displayed my pictures and I also notified ebay of the situation....no response from ebay yet, which I'm not surprised because their customer service is almost non-existent, well that's another rant so I can't get into that at this point, LOL. I did receive replies from the seller and initially they said they were very sorry and blamed it on their "assistant" and said they'd look into removing my pictures....they managed to change the picture on 3 of their auctions but not all 7 which is confusing to me....in another reply they asked me how much did I want for my photos and I told them that I just don't want them used at all....AND....to make matters worse....in one of their replies to me they said this, (quote) "listen i didnt steal anything from you i have appologized and appologized and i will take care of it if you need to plaster it on your face book go ahead im really sorry i really didnt know what was done" (end quote)....that was in response to one of my not-so-nice emails but it sure didnt' help!....THEN the person says they figured out where their "assistant" got my web address from....they said they have my link saved because they've purchased from me before....so I looked up their name and yes they did purchase 3 dolls from me earlier in the year....they're not selling the dolls though, they're selling stuff that I also sell and basically competing with me so using my photos is just plain immoral. I searched up how to watermark a photo and am going to have to take some time to figure out how to do it....does anyone out there have any tips on how to do that?

well I feel better now getting all of that off my chest!

Janet, I now make my post in Microsoft Live Writer and it is much easier than blogger. You have to download it and then you link it to your blog. Your write your post, insert photos in Live Writer and click to publish in Blogger when you are ready. When you insert a picture that way, you have the option to watermark it there. It might be worth looking into!! Good luck!!

I was just going to suggest the same thing. I have downloaded it but not used it yet. Good luck.

Janet,

Sorry to hear about this news. It is a shame that people have to steal pictures from you. I myself started using Live Writer just like Linda from Behind My Red Door and love it. You should check it out.

Hugs,
Lisa

Hi, Janet!

Sorry to hear about all of the trouble you're going through. I was going to mention something about this on my blog. I use Live Writer, also. What I want to point out to those that are putting watermarks on their pictures using Live Writer, it only allows you to place it in the top or bottom and you can click on that picture to enlarge it, then right click it to save on file or print out. If you have any kind of photo printing program that allows you to crop pictures, you can crop the watermark right off! In fact, the Live Writer also allows you to crop pictures.
I bought a photo program from Staples (you can find it elsewhere) called Photo Explosion. It sells for $50 and has a $20 rebate. You can put a watermark anywhere on your picture and can control how light or dark you want it to appear on your pics. I used it on a couple of pics on one of my posts titled "Antique Finds and Morning at the Fair" if you want to see what it looks like.
I hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Janet,
I use Paint shop pro and live writer. Paint shop pro will allow you to do more and I like it much better. you can add your water mark to any photo.....and in any color, tone depth or even embossed and you can make it as light or as dark as you want ...it offers an embedded digital watermark too. I use that for a lot of my 'selling' photos...also...make sure you put your water mark in the CENTER of your photos...at least for your shoppe pics so people can't crop it and remove the water mark!

Glad you made the move to get things taken care of....but here excuse about an ASSISTANT is probably her way of passing the blame along so she looks good. NOT!!!!

I have the ability to watermark my pictures but just haven't but I guess I had better do it.

Hugs,
Karen

watermark doesn't deter the image at all, go for it, sad you have to go to such links but that is the nature of the internet now a days. well worth the time it takes.
