~ Painted The Dining Room ~

We spent our long holiday weekend last week painting the dining room and breakfast nook. I've got the dining room put back together and wanted to share some pics. It was olive green before and I wanted to neutralize it but dang I liked the green better ::::sigh:::: I'm going to have to live with it like this for quite awhile because it's just so much work moving everything. Here are some before and afters:

The black and creme toile goes with anything in my opinion. I have a small collection of plates above the doorway that matches the sheers, it's not primitive but I still like it.

I have been in such a funk lately that I haven't felt up to being cheerful and visiting all of your blogs like I normally do. I was feeling down before Michael Jackson died and then that really threw me for a loop, I feel like I lost a member of my family, silly I guess, but true. I was hoping that doing some redecorating might help and it did help a bit, I just wish I liked it better than before. The breakfast nook we painted the same tan on top, I wanted to tie both eating areas in together, I'll post pics of that in a few days. Oh and this was the first time we used Benjamin Moore paint, and boy is it ever nice to work with, it dries nicer too and the tape comes off easier and everything, I'm sold! This tan is called Lenox Tan in the Historical colors catagory.

That's all for today, have a lovely weekend!

I love the new color, it's gorgeous. I'm so sorry to hear you are in a funk. We all go through those from time to time & then they just seem to go away. MJ was certainly a talented man and will be missed.

I love the new color, Janet!! It looks great!
I know what you mean about being in a funk! I'm there too! I guess that's what they mean by the "lazy days of summer". It'll pass I'm sure. Just not soon enough for me!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

OH Janet, I love the new color! Of course I have the color in my bedroom so I guess that might be why!! I think there was more pop with the olive but the tan is classier and more prim. I bet it grows on you!! I hope so!

Seems like half the gals I know are in a funk lately! I wonder what is with that? I hope it passes quickly! Summer is my least fsavorite time of the year and I can get in a funk too if I don't have enough to "look forward too" so I try to keep busy. I hope you are back to yourself soon!

hugs, Linda

Your room looks great!! I actually liked both colors, but the tan definitely gives it a more prim look. You can always go back after you live with the tan for a little while... that is the nice thing about paint : )

I too have been in a funk lately, but I was finally able to shake myself up a bit and get busy with some stuff and now I am feeling much better. I think we all get in a funk sometimes... hang in there and I hope you are feeling better soon.

Janet your green was beautiful but your new color is something special as well. It gives the room a whole new feel. I really like it. It goes great against the white bottom. I think it was a very smart choice.
It almost looks like you got new pieces for your walls. Love it girl.

Hi Janet, love the new color, it will go with decorations for all of the seasons. Try to cheer up, you should plan something fun so you have something to look forward to. We did have a great time up north and it was greatly needed! Dawn

Okay so we all agree we LOVE the new color, and your room is so inviting..could sit right down and stay awhile. I think with each and everything you do you are making your home more and more primitive...and I think that was your goal. Im sending good thoughts and hoping you feel better soon. Hi Janet!! Don't feel down. Try and think about the good things or don't think at all and just get involved like you did with your redecorating, that's what I try and do. Usually for me it's the month of February. Then its over and I'm back to my old self. Hope you will be soon also!

I love the new paint color and I love your plates. I collect transferware also and can not get enough of them. They look lovely with all the primitives. You have a real eye for decorating.

Thanks for you kind words about the kitties.

Have a happy day!
Jenn
