~ Very Bad Wednesday Afternoon and Evening ~

We had a tornado come through here @ 5:17 pm yesterday. The exterior of our house sustained damage to the roof and trim, it took down our front yard tree, and everything is a complete mess :(
me, my youngest son, and of course Katie the kitty were home when it happened and it happened very quickly...we are all ok, just shook up:
lots of trim needs to be replaced:
there's debris everywhere:
my main concern is for the roof...there are some missing shingles but a large portion of the shingles lifted up and then layed back down so they're no longer attached...you probably can't tell from the picture but in person it looks sorta ruffled:
we had a landscape contractor come out today to tell us if our tree could be saved and he said that there's just too much root damage :(

the next few pics are of the tornado damage just across the street...notice the large camper trailer overturned and of course the downed fence...on the house next to them the garage door is wadded up and the shutters askew...then on the house next to that a large section of the siding is missing:
closer look at the camper trailer mess:
closer look at the other 2 houses:
I know it could have been alot worse and I am thankful that no one was injured.

Hi Janet,

I'm so glad that you all came through that and are safe. I was seeing this system move through on TV and there were some really strong storms. I'm sorry about your tree and home too but as long as you are well those things can be replaced.
Take care,
Sallie

Janet, I am so saddened to hear about your losses. As you say, though, as long as the people are OK, that is the main thing. I will keep you in my prayers for quick settling with insurance etc. and hoping you are doing better by holiday season. God Bless you all!

What a scary time for you and the family! What's important is that you are all okay. It doesn't look like there was any structural damage and everything but the tree can easily be repaired. So sad about your beautiful tree. Hugs

Thank goodness your all ok!

The more I look at the pictures the more I feel that you have been so very very lucky, especially as you and Katie were both at home when the tornado struck!

I know how upset you are about your beautiful tree, but possessions can be replaced whereas lives can't, so I am so very thankful that my dear friend and her family are safe and sound!

Sending Hugs,
Karen
