~ In A Perfect World (a rant) ~

In a perfect world, a person's character would have something to do with their successes in life. I am just so frustrated with the likes of Tiger Woods, Charlie Sheen, and those who treat the people in their life so badly yet still hold high and esteemed places in the public....not to mention being rewarded by making TONS of money!! People say, "oh he's not a bad person", but what constitutes a "bad person" exactly? if not how you treat others?

Football players who engage in criminal activity in their private life are still allowed to return to, not only participate in, but be highly paid for their parts in the game. Tiger Woods is reportedly going to make his big "come back" to golf after exhibiting the behavior of an immoral pig! Then there's Charlie Sheen, he allegedly (probably actually) held a knife to the mother of his childrens' neck for pity sake! yet will remain the highest paid actor in television!! Does the name O.J. Simpson come to mind? It's all so obscene to me!

There is just soooo much violence being presented to us in the form of entertainment, from tv to movies to video games, it's all so wrong and I just don't get it!

Janet I completely agree! The sadest part is that the victims are almost always women and children! Then there's the other side of the coin. What's wrong with these women who know the actor, sports figure, or politician is married and and yet pursue him. They are just as much to blame for destroying a family and they get to have their 15 minutes of fame or even worse make money from the affair by writing books and doing interviews. Just pitiful!

What gets me is when they, in Hollywood, think they are above others and can do what ever they want and get away with it. Some of the things people do, id it was me, I'd be thrown in jail no ifs, ands, or buts. I guess they will all pay in the end.

Many blessings

I agree! Maybe if people stopped buying movies that present violence, and stopped watching violence on TV, our society would not become so desensitized to it.

Well Said Janet! It seems that the more money these people make whether they be sports people (whom our children are supposed to look up to) or actors, the more they think they can get away with. If that's what money does for you I am glad I haven't got any!

I will name another name that is disgusting and he is Michael Vick! He should've never been allowed back in the NFL! He should've never been let out of jail. Animal abuse to me is the worst other than child abuse. Animals are totally defenseless and dog fighting is atrocious! I am on my soap box, sorry! Tiger Woods is despicable beyond reasoning and they're worried about how much money the PGA is losing!!!? Whaa-whaaa. Can you tell that I agree with you? Thanks for letting me vent, too!

What really worries me is that kids see that doing stuff like this is okay because the stars and athletes do bad stuff and basically get away with it! Forgot to add that! Debbie S.

I completely agree with you and it seems like this terrible behavior somehow makes them more famous. This is frightening to me. People seem to get rewarded for the most horrible deeds and it sure sends a an awful message to young fans.

I'm with you. Maybe we should stop watching their tv shows and movies. It seems Hollywood can do what they want and think it is legal.

GREAT POST!!!
