~ Spare Bedroom ~

Our youngest son moved out in November and even though I wasn't ready for my baby to leave the nest, I have to admit that it's been nice to have a spare room to decorate....it's not done but I wanted to post a few pictures of how it looks thus far....it's a small room so the queen sized bed takes up most of it!

I found a really cool ceiling light to replace the ceiling fan that was in there.

I'm not wild about the lamp shade I found for the jug lamp but it will do until I come across the perfect shade.

The quilt at the foot of the bed has vintage keys stamped on it so I'd like to find some other kind of key decor for the walls....I did find a handmade heart that has a key on it to hang from a little shelf I picked up at an antique shoppe....I carry that framed print in my web shoppe and had to keep one for myself because I thought it looked really nice in the room!

I found the perfect sized little sideboard at an antique shoppe and painted it black, now I need to find just the right mirror to hang above it.

There is one window in the room, it has white wooden blinds, but I want to add a fabric window treatment.

I'm thinking of a panel swagged to the one side by the corner, here are some fabric swatches I got from Country Curtains, do you think any of them would work?....I'd love to hear suggestions!
Husband is currently making a wall cupboard for the room, I'll post a picture or two of it when it's hung.

I have been trying to read your blog for several days and was very interested to see how you decorated your spare bedroom. The valentine sidebar covers a lot of the writing and some of the pictures. I don't know if it is just me or are others having the same problem? I am sorry if this sounds negative, I certainly don't mean it to. Thanks for listening and for what I could see of the room, it looks wonderful.

Hi Janet ~~ What fun you must be having decorating a "new" room. It all looks great...the bed is wonderful as is the sideboard. I also love the quilt at the bottom of the bed and your new ceiling light. I'm not having any trouble viewing your page,
I can read it clearly, love your new
background paper.

Hi Jill....I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble viewing my blog! The only thing I can think of is that it may have something to do with the resolution setting on your monitor because I used to have a similiar problem when viewing certain web pages. Maybe my blog would be easier to view if I removed the background, I may have to try that! Janet :)

Hi Janet ~ Thanks for visiting me...I've been jumping around to different blogs tonight also! I'm just not ready to go to sleep yet.

I've enjoyed your blog. Love your little kitty widget. Your bedroom is lovely....love love love the bed! I like the toile curtains. I don't think you need any help though...it looks great. You'll have to post a picture with what you decide so we can all see!

Have a great night! Jenn

Hi, the room already looks great and I cannot wait to see the end results.

I love the toile, I live not far from Country Curtains in Bedminster, NJ and I have see these in person, they are really pretty. The had an entire staged room with the toile, so pretty!
