~ A Little Summer Stitchin' ~

It certainly feels like summer anyway! I know it's still technically spring but boy has been hot here in Central Virginia. Last week we had temps in the upper 90's most of the week with a couple days hitting and even exceeding 100. This week we are expected to be in the mid 80's which is still WAY too hot for me! Such is summertime though and I shall just continue to count the days until December when my favorite season returns. I am so thankful for central air conditioning! We have lived in this house for 9 years this month, it is the first house I've ever lived in that has central A/C, and let me tell you, it is a modern comfort that I hope to never have to live without again! I've been staying inside enjoying the A/C and doing some cross-stitching. I'm into making the little pinkeep/sampler pillows mostly...I've made a couple for myself and a couple to offer up for sale if anyone is interested! Both are Stacy Nash designs!

Here is the 1776 Flowers with Flag design...it is stitched on osnaburg that has been aged with walnut crystals:...and backed with a reproduction Civil War fabric:
...it measures 4 3/4" x 4 1/2" and is stuffed with pieces of clean unbleached muslin fabric...I am asking $35.00 for it which will include First Class Mail within the USA...just leave a message here on my blog or you can go to my web site and use the Contact link to reach me...Paypal only please.

Here is the Peace and Plenty design...SOLD...THANK YOU!...also stitched on osnaburg that has been aged with walnut crystals:
...and backed with a reproduction Civil War fabric with a wool heart primitively stitched on:
...it measures 6 1/4" x 4 1/2" and is stuffed with pieces of clean unbleached muslin fabric...IT HAS BEEN SPOKEN FOR...THANK YOU!

Well I think that's going to be it for me today...it's Sunday which for me means watching a NASCAR race! Go 88!! Have a most joyous Sunday all!

Good afternoon Janet...
Tucked indoors, away from 100 degree temperatures sounds delightful! It looks as though your fingers are being kept busy with needle and thread...BEAUTIFUL work!

Peaceful stitching,
Judy

Love the needlework pieces Janet...you do amazing work, girl! I like the little heart ya added on the back.
It's a lot cooler up this way now...at least for the next few days. 60s and 70s and no humidity!! It's the humidity that kills me! Today I have on sweats and a hoodie-I'm not complainin' a bit!! :) Ya need to move north, my friend!! ;)
Have a wonderful Sunday...enjoy the race!

Love the pinkeeps Janet! You do such beautiful work!
I know how much you hate the heat and it's scary to think that the season is just beginning. I think when it's time to retire you, me, and Linda should move to the arctic! You can decorate igloos prim style right!
I can't imagine living without central air and often think of those who can't afford that luxury. Take care my friend and try to stay cool. Hugs

Beautiful!
The Grand Prix is in Montreal this weekend, and it is one of the most important event in our area for tourism.
Have a great weekend!

Janet, They are just beautiful. You do wonderful work.
It has been so hot here too. We have been hitting almost 100 for about 2 weeks but this week it should be better. That is not our normal June weather but with all the rain I guess hot is good.
I do adore winter also but really we had 51 inches of snow last season and I just did not enjoy that at all. Blessings, Dianntha

Oh my goodness.....JANET!!!! Your pinkeeps are absolutely GORGEOUS!! I would LOVE to learn how to stitch but I wasn't blessed with the talent at all. I can't even sew a button on. I'm with you thank the Lord for central heat and air. It would be almost unbearable here in South Carolina without it. Hope you have a great week.

Blessings,
Dana

Both beautiful pieces Janet! You did a wonderful job on them. Some day I would love to have central air but it won't be in this house. I'm glad you have it and can sit and enjoy your stitching when it's so hot outside.

Love the needlework! I really need to get motivated and complate some samplers I have started. And a couple punch needles. And finally teach myself some rug hooking with all the wool I have been hoarding. Yes, I must get motivated. Maybe a little later. ;o)
